Heat wave essentials!

June 28, 2010

Phew it’s hot! We’re loving the summer sun, but it’s easy to let your beauty regime slide when you’re enjoying a heat wave, so we thought we’d share some inside info with you on our number one summer multi-tasking product!

Oxygen Body 3% from Karin Herzog increases natural oxygen and water content in the skin, which means it simultaneously detoxes,  cleanses (inside and out), hydrates, balances, heals, repairs and tan accelerates while also maximising and stimulating collagen and melanin production.

Wow. So what does this all mean?

  • Tan accelerater  – meaning you’ll get a better tan from shorter sun exposure
  • Tan maximiser – water and hydration levels are so high skin stays supple and golden longer, not dry and flaky
  • Banish heat rash and prickly heat
  • Apply as antiseptic for stings and bites  (you can use it on the kids also)
  • Reduces DVT risk during long haul due to increasing circulation (read the article)
  • Helps re-shape and reduce cellulite (although Silhouette with 4% oxygen is more intense treatment for cellulite)
  • Banishes fungal or other nail infections and makes toe nails look fabulous
  • Anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial action means this cream can tackle almost any unwanted infection and is great first-aid on holiday abroad
  • Helps reduce and prevent hard skin on heals
  • Great to apply to individual breakouts on the skin or blisters from sun dehydration
  • Helps tan-over uneven skin pigmentation or white patches
  • Reduces blistering and burning
  • Great to sooth hot skin as an after sun due to the additional water which is driven into the skin
  • Helps reduce bloating when applied to abdomen, can even help settle upset stomach
  • Helps prevent ingrowing hairs and other problems from waxing, see more here
  • Contains no parabens or preservatives
  • Safe to use on children and during pregnancy and breast feeding, see more here

As our MD, Julie Cichocki says: “Its like taking a chemist and therapist away on holiday with you”.

Any questions? just drop us a line, we’d love to help.

Proof that Oxygen Sun helps you get the best tan possible!

June 22, 2010

We’ve had some exciting news from an independent clinical trial, which proves that Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun Cream is the ultimate essential summer skincare product – helping you get a great ran, from shorter periods of sun exposure!

To get a natural tan you need oxygen, sun and melanin, and it’s now been proved conclusively that our Oxygen Sun increases melanocytes (melatonin producing cells) production and distribution within the skin. This increases the skins own ability to protect itself and simultaneously will increase the tan and increase hydration for added comfort. Plus the 1% oxygen contained in the cream helps the skin to repair old sun damage.

EVERYONE should include this product in their summer skincare routine!

Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun is 100% paraben and preservative free and provides SPF level 4. For stronger protection higher SPF creams can be applied AFTER applying Oxygen Sun cream and allowing it to penetrate.

To ensure best results apply daily for at least two weeks prior to sun exposure, allowing the melanocytes to build within the skin.

Want to pressure wash your skin?

June 15, 2010

Ok, cleansing your skin is not the same as pressure washing your patio :),  but this simple routine will give you maximum lymph drainage and help to de-congest the skin.

The lymph drainage system is the body’s natural mechanism for toxin removal. Sometimes our system can be sluggish and toxin removal can be slow, this results in congested skin that can look grey, dull and lifeless, and even prone to break-outs. To stimulate the removal of these toxins, we need to increase the circulation and aid the flow of the waste product to the areas known as the lymph nodes.

We know that using the Karin Herzog oxygen products stimulates the circulation and the antiseptic effect of the oxygen kills bacteria formed in the layers of the skin, but you can promote even quicker results by practicing a simple procedure that will enhance the result of your oxygen cream and speed up lymph drainage.

Method:

(note, these movements should be done with your fingertips)

  1. Apply a small amount of cleanser (either our Professional Cleanser, or Finest Chocolate) to the face and neck area.
  2. Using light circular movements massage behind the ears and work in a downward motion down the neck. This will help relieve tension and and allow clear drainage. [repeat]
  3. Move hands to the forehead, placing them at the centre, apply light but firm pressure as you part the hands out towards the sides of the head. You are draining toxins to the lymph node situated by the temples. [repeat]
  4. Move the hands to the jaw line – move the fingers around the jaw bone applying pressure underneath in a pinching action, working out from behind the chin towards the ear and hold. [repeat]
  5. Place fingers on the area between the nose and the upper lip, and apply pressure here, again drain the toxins out towards the base of the ear and hold. Do not forget the corners of the mouth.
  6. Move the fingers to the eye, to the bone area below. Place the fingertips firmly around the orbital bone pushing the toxins towards the temples.
  7. Place the hands horizontally either side of the nose – apply pressure removing toxins from the nose and cheeks to the temples.
  8. Finally, reward the face with a sweeping continuous stroking action over the entire area.
  9. Soak the Karin Herzog Face Silk in hot* water. Apply to the face, press and leave.
  10. Soak the Silk again in hot* water and sweep over the face.
  11. Splash cold water over the entire area.
  12. Wring out the silk completely
  13. Blot the face dry with the silk
  14. Continue with the oxygen program.

* If you are prone to broken capillaries please use only tepid water, as heat may aggravate the condition.
