We’re very pleased to announce a new Karin Herzog salon, West One Beauty which has just opened in Camden, London.

Salon owner Sally Medcalf has been one of our favourite beauty therapists for many years. Her original salon West One Beauty, in Marylebone, London is well known by Karin Herzog fans across the capital. Sally’s new venture is set to be just as successful. The salon is beautifully decorated, making you feel pampered as soon as you walk in the door!

In 2004 Sally was nominated Beauty Therapist and Facialist of the Year for her expertise in facial skincare. A master of Karin Herzog therapies, we regularly send our celebrity clients to Sally. Sally also has some fantastic beauty therapists working with her who are trained in Karin Herzog therapies.

How to get a ‘No Trace Face’

You may have heard that the latest buzz amongst the A listers is the NO TRACE FACE, that means minimum intervention and little work so that the effects of cosmetic surgery are less pronounced and visible at a glance. What is the hydrogen peroxide in Karin Herzog products?

We often get asked if there’s any difference in the oxygen in our products and hydrogen peroxide, so here’s some background info that should clear things up. Some people worry that hydrogen peroxide might not be safe to put on their skin, but if you use Karin Herzog oxygen creams, it’s one of the safest, most natural products to choose.

Our hydrogen peroxide is in low concentrations and the cream is the ONLY product in the world that is patented for the stabilisation of hydrogen peroxide in a cream format. It is also the original of all oxygen therapies in beauty today.

Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2 (2 molecules of pure water + 2 molecules of oxygen) it is therefore the best, most natural and easiest carrier of oxygen. It is however volatile and escapes into the air when it comes into contact with human skin via the catalase enzyme on the skin. Our cream is the only one that traps the oxygen so instead of escaping into the air, the structure of the cream holds it tight, when it converts to gas it then pushes oxygen and pure water down into the skin.

Karin Herzog supports Breast Cancer awareness month

During October Karin Herzog UK & USA will donate 10% of its turnover to Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, a Midlands based charity which our MD, Julie Cichocki, works closely with.

100% of money raised by Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer goes directly to fund specialist staff and equipment at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham, which serves a 70 Miles radius. As you will appreciate that covers a vast swath across the Midlands, that unfortunately can get missed out by many charity events which can concentrate on London and home counties.

So please, during October stock up on Karin Herzog products so we can give more to this amazing charity.

Julie has been working with Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer for some time, and each year helps organise a charity event, and this year it’s a fashion show where all the models have had, or have, breast cancer. Have you discovered Quench Oils yet?

We’re enormously proud of our range of Quench Oils, which are based on an ancient Polynesian beauty secret.

Quench contain Monoi De Tahiti, a purified concentrate coconut oil. The ritual of just producing the oil is so romantic and spiritual – which is in keeping with the Polynesian people. Pure Monoi blended with exotic and indulgent earthy sandalwood, spicy ginger and the grounded notes of Eucalyptus and Pine. Woody, spicy, exotic and totally grounding. Chocolate Cherry
By huge demand, we searched high and low for a quality oil that offers the beneficial anti-ageing properties of pure cocoa, with the exotic and therapeutic properties of heady and evocative, sensual rich black cherries. Which is your favourite?

Sorting skin problems for darker complexions

We all aim for a smooth, clear and even toned complexion, but different skin tones have different sets of problems, here we look at how our oxygen skincare products can help darker skin tones.

Three of our products; Vita-A-Kombi 2, Vita-A-Kombi 3, and Karin Herzog Mild Scrub are particularly effective in addressing overactive sebum production, something which often concerns women with dark skin. It’s often the root cause that leads to a set of very stubborn skin problems including clogged and/or infected pores, skin discoloration and ingrown hairs.

Let’s start with overactive sebum production. Because darker skin tones are prone to increased sebaceous activity, Vita-A-Kombi 2, with 2% oxygen concentration, delivers nutrients directly to cells, optimizing skin function and restoring sebum production to a normal, healthy level.

When emergencies such as breakouts strike, Vita-A-Kombi 3, a 3% oxygen concentration, acts as a fast and effective acne zapper. Regular use of Karin Herzog Mild Scrub gently removes dry blockages from pores, allowing them to breathe normally and at the same time, create a route for the penetration of Vita-A-Kombi 2.

Discoloration happens when melanocytes (the same melanin producing cells that keep dark skin younger looking) occasionally spin out of control and produce dark spots and uneven skin tones. Couple this with a delay in the natural turnover of cells and skin can begin to appear dull and feel course and rough. Ingrown hairs are very annoying. Instead of growing straight out of the follicle, often a hair will curl back under the skin’s surface. Our face mask product is called Essential Mask, and contains 2% oxygen. It’s a personal fav of ours here at Karin Herzog HQ, we call it our ‘face lift in a tube’ for its ability to make skin firmer, more hydrated and radiant.  It also has a beautiful fresh aromatic fragrance of mandarin, bilberry, grapefruit and orange.
